How to participate

 

There are a number of ways in which you can engage with the SEC Programme:

SEC Partners
SEAI will establish a partnership with a total of 6 Local Authorities to deliver an SEC in their County. Partners will be selected through a competitive selection process. Further information on the application process can be found here. Partner local authorities will receive project management support for the delivery and implementation of a Sustainable Energy Community in their area. Support will include expert technical assistance, identification of funding streams and assistance in establishing successful stakeholder engagement structures and pilot projects. The support will allow stakeholders in the community build capacity and continue to broaden and deepen sustainable energy actions. 
SEC Network Member
Communities who register an interest and/ or submit a proposal to be An SEC Programme Partner but are not successful will be eligible to take part in the SEC Programme Network and take advantage of the relationship created with SEAI. This will allow for focused engagement in SEAI’s public and private programmes and a forum for the ongoing dialogue of leading best practice and policy in delivering sustainable energy through the collaborative approach of the SEC Model. The network will bring together like-minded leaders to share ideas, best practice, develop innovate solutions to barriers and recognise the emerging opportunities to implement sustainable energy systems. SEAI can build on the innovate leadership of the Network to inform policy proposals and dialogue in National and International arenas.
SEC Tools and Best Practice

The SEC Programme will promote and publish results, information and lessons learnt so that any community, town or county can work towards being a Sustainable Energy Community. This information is available to all and can be found here.

SEAI and the SEC Programme will continue to engage nationally and internationally to inform, promote and lead best practice in sustainable energy policy.
